Q. Can I hire a Service Team member directly?
A. Your Service Agreement with Cora Maid Services states that you agree not to hire any past or present Home Service Team members for any home-related services that you are introduced to through Cora Maid Services. If you wish to employ a Home Service Team member, our referral fee of $3000.00 is payable with 30 days notification from Cora Maid Services. Cora maid Services reserve the right to pursue alternate methods of collection if the fee is not paid.
Q. Do you guarantee my house cleaning work?
A. All our home services are guaranteed. Please contact us within 24 hours if you are unsatisfied with the service and we will re-clean the area at no additional charge.
Q. Should I tip the Home Service Team?
A. This is entirely up to you- tipping is not required or expected, but always appreciated. If you do choose to leave a tip, cash is preferable - it will be shared equally by your Service Team. An occasional note to the team when they really impress you would also be welcomed. In addition, your cleaning team receives bonuses based on your feedback, so please call or drop us a note through our website.
Q. Why does the 1st cleaning take longer?
A. It takes additional cleaning time to get the home up to Cora Maid Services standards. This first visit is performed on an hourly basis, and the estimate for this visit will be expressed as a cost range. We will contact you for authorization for more time if your Service Team considers it necessary. After this initial visit, we will confirm your regular cleaning price. Regular home service visits are charged as a flat fee. You will receive prior estimates for both the initial cleaning and the regular house cleanings.
Q. What is your liability limit?
A. Our liability limits are set at a maximum of 200% of your one time service fee.
Q. What if something gets broken?
A. Please notify us within 48 hours of the cleaning date and we make arrangements to have the item repaired or replaced for you.
Q. What if there is a problem?
A. If you see a problem while the Home Service Team is in your home, you can talk to a team member, who will make immediate efforts to correct the problem. Or you can contact the office staff, who will work with the team to quickly correct the problem.
Q. What do I do with our pets?
A. Please let us know if you have pets and provide any information regarding them that would be helpful for us. If possible, we prefer pets to be confined away from the areas we clean, to allow us to clean your home better and more efficiently.
Q. What if I accidentally lock the cleaning staff out?
A. As with cancellation fees, if you lock the Home Services Team out on cleaning day, you will be assessed a lock-out fee.
Q. What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?
A. If your scheduled cleaning falls on a statutory holiday we will contact you to reschedule.
Q. Will I always have the same service crew?
A. We attempt to ensure that the same team services your home each visit. If changes must be made we will contact you as soon as possible to determine if you would prefer another person or prefer to change your schedule so you can retain your favourite service person.
Q. How many people will clean my home?
A. Usually, there will be a team of two, but that can vary depending on the individual situation.
Q. Do I have to provide my own cleaning supplies& equipment?
A. We bring all supplies and equipment to clean your home, however, we will be happy to accommodate requests to use your own preferred cleaning supplies as long as safety regulations allow.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. Please contact our office before your cleaning day. We require 48 hours’ notice prior to your cleaning, otherwise a cancellation fee will be assessed.
Q. How can I pay for your services?
A. You may pay by cash, cheque or credit card. For cash & cheques payment is due at time of service - please leave cash or a cheque payable to Cora Maid Service in an envelope on the kitchen counter. If you choose to pay by credit card, we will keep your credit card information on file at the office and charge your card once each cleaning is completed. A $25.00 fee will be charged for all returned cheques.
Q. How much it will cost to clean my home?
A. As each home is unique we base our pricing on factors like the size of your home, number of people living there, clutter, pets, your lifestyle and how often you want your home cleaned. We tailor our visit to suite your particular needs and your home’s requirements.
Q. How do you access my home?
A. You can leave a key on file with us (the best option). You can leave a key at a designated accessible place at your home or you may wait for the Home Service Team. The Home Service Team who cleans your home has the only access. For security keys are coded individually & our code reference and keys are always kept separate. Keys are picked up from and dropped off to the office each day.
Q. Are your service providers trained & supervised?
A. We screen applicants very carefully (including police background checks). We train staff upon hire & continue providing ongoing training. We inspect homes & keep in touch with our customers on an ongoing basis.
Q. Are you bonded & insured?
A. Yes - we are bonded and carry insurance so you are protected against theft, accidental breakage or accidents inside your home. This covers your home, our Home Service Teams and Cora Maid Service.
Q. What is the difference between Cora Maid Services and a cleaning lady or another service?
A. Cora Maid Services builds relationships with our customers. We continually improve the services we offer, and how we do them. We welcome feedback & suggestions from our customers because our view is that we have a partnership with you – we work together. Cora Maid Services looks after all employments details including all required federal / provincial deductions.
